This year, Day of the Castle Day is the entire Whitsun weekend. Discover the most beautiful castles in the Region of Surprises!
Participating castles open their doors to give visitors a unique insight into the historic history of these forts.
In the Region, 10 castles are participating in this event, all on the 20th of May. They welcome visitors for a guided tour, provide information and organise activities for young and old.
Kasteel Oud-Poelgeest in Oegstgeest, will open their doors between 11.00 and 16.00. Here you can enjoy music, admire the beautiful castle and enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant.
In Voorschoten, you have Kasteel Duivenvoorde, a beautiful piece of history from the 13th century with an authentic atmosphere.
And in the middle of the nature of Wassenaar you will find Kasteel de Wittenburg, a beautiful castle that has castle rooms and hotel rooms. Here, enjoy the open garden, a guided tour and for the kids there are fun activities.
