In Katwijk, young and old alike can learn to surf, bodyboard and kitesurf!

Touring the Region
The Bizon Bike Company has cool electric E-Choppers for great noise-free tours of the Region of Surprises. The choppers have a generous radius of 70 km. The inbuilt phone-holder allows you to navigate safely while enjoying the surroundings to the full. Discover the best of the region with one of the bike-tastic routes.
Discover Leiden at your own pace while staying fully Covid-safe, by renting a scooter for a day or part of a day. Op Step has more than 50 scooters and numerous routes combined with activities in the Leiden region.
Going up
Climbing park Het Klimeiland in the Vlietland recreation area has a number of challenging routes at different heights. There are 50 aerial obstacles and 10 ziplines, the longest of which is 100 metres. And the climbing park is in such a fantastic location, amidst the trees and by the recreational lake. Great for beginners and advanced climbers alike.
Urban and countryside routes
Discover the Leidse Ommelanden by bike. From Leiden's Singelpark you can cycle to the Katwijk dunes, or, via the Oostvlietpolder to the farm landscape of Zoeterwoude, or enjoy the many windmills around the Kagerplassen lakes.
Wander through wonderful natural surroundings or be surprised by the region’s rich history. The Landgoedwandeling route in Wassenaar takes you through a lovely series of country estates, including De Paauw and Backershagen. The existing Jan Wolkers route in Oegstgeest is now also available in a to-go version.
