Far away and yet close, the war in Ukraine
The photo exhibition “Far away and yet close, the war in Ukraine” in Leiden City Hall provides an image of the daily reality of the war in Ukraine, photographed by twelve Ukrainian war photographers.
They present an authentic image of the war, with all its raw, gruesome, but also moving aspects. A camera records and a medium selects. Each photo, as a still image, lets the viewer pause for a moment to consider the daily reality of the war in Ukraine. Part of the exhibition is World Press photo 2023. The exhibition has previously been organized in the Czech Republic, Belgium and America.
