Voorschoten Horse Days
The Voorschoten Horse Days is a three-day event dedicated to horse-related activities, including the Horse Market and 'Kortebaandraverij'.
The last weekend of July is a three-day party in the centre of Voorschoten.
The weekend opens on Friday evening with music in the catering industry on Voorstraat. The traditional Horse Market starts on Saturday morning at 06:00 when the horses and ponies are brought to the market. This Horse Market lasts until 12:00, but there is also a pleasant annual market in the centre of Voorschoten all day long.
Saturday afternoon the Kortebaandraverij takes place on the Van Beethovenlaan. This trotting race has been connected to the Paardenmarkt since 1924 and is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year!
Saturday evening, the catering industry in the Voorstraat will provide a spectacular program. And on Sunday, everyone with a pony or horse can participate in the ring-riding. And to complete the party for the youth, there is a funfair on the Burgemeester Van der Haarplein from Wednesday to Sunday.
